The Cheshire Clubs' Cricket Committee was formed by the Cheshire Cricket Board to look after the development of senior recreational cricket in Cheshire. More details about the Cheshire Cricket Board can be found by using the hyperlink below to their web site.

Each Cheshire cricket club which affiliates to the Cheshire Cricket Board is a Member of the Committee and its Executive  is formed of four elected officers, a representative of each Cheshire based league which has at least five affiliated member clubs and two regional representatives to represent the affiliated clubs in non-represented leagues in the East and West regions of the county.

The elected officers are the Chairman, David Humpage; the Treasurer, John Elliott; the Secretary, Bob Cunningham and the Competitions Secretary, Ian Greensmith.

The Committee Executive meet at roughly two monthly intervals to discuss strategy and form policy for the development of recreational club cricket in Cheshire. The minutes of the last meeting can be read by following the hyperlink below.

Of the many topics discussed at meetings of the Executive, the use of development plans by clubs, is one of the more important. It has become important for clubs to have an adopted development plan, if they are to obtain full rate rebates from their local council, or to qualify for certain grants. The Committee will assist Clubs in any way possible in the drawing up of their plans and the ECB guidance on this procedure is reproduced on the website. Follow the hyperlink below to access this.

Clubs with young players are also required by Law  under the Child Protection Act, to consider and adopt a Club Child Protection Policy. To assist with this a model policy has been written for Cheshire Clubs and this can be seen by  following the hyperlink below.

The ECB published their policy document on the welfare of young people in the sport in October 2003. The document called Safe Hands can be read and/or downloaded by following the hyperlink below to the ECB Play-cricket website and choosing the heading ECB Information from the menu.

Clubs should also appoint a Child Welfare Officer and all members of Clubs who come into contact with young players through their membership, should obtain a Criminal Record Bureau(CRB) clearance, or fill in a self-disclosure form and pass it to the Welfare Officer for secure storage. Information to allow members to decide whether they need to have a CRB Clearance, or whether a Self Declaration form is adequate, can be found by following the hyperlinks below:

All Overseas Players are required to provide the ECB with a completed Overseas  Clearance Form before they can coach any juniors at their clubs. For a form follow the hyperlink below.

Under the auspices of the Committee, the three main independent Cheshire based leagues, the Cheshire County Cricket League, the Cheshire Cricket League and the Cheshire Cricket Alliance, have linked together to form the Cheshire Integrated League System.

The first season for the system was 2000 and 2001 was the first season of promotion and relegation between each adjacent pair of the top 7 divisions. A report on the final positions of the clubs in each division in 2002 can be read by following the hyperlink below. This report gives details of thr performance of all the Cheshire affiliated clubs in their leagues in 2005.
